If you're into smells, you'll have noticed the constant stream of scent launches and the ever-expanding celebrity perfume lines of late – believe me, as a beauty editor my desk is buckling under the weight of bottles – but the past few months have offered us a number of particularly refreshing releases to get excited about.

As autumn arrives, it's out with the fresh and zesty scents and in with something woodier or warmer. Earlier this month, Louis Vuitton released its first perfume in 70 years and Charlotte Tilbury added to her fast-growing product range with the sultry Scent of a Dream.

For Christian Louboutin's first foray into fragrance, the shoe designer created three scents which embody three unique scent personalities: heat of the night, provocation, and desire, while Christian Dior added to an already impressive fragrance collection with Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming in August.

If you're in the market for something new for the autumn months, click on for our roundup of the best new fragrances now that summer has gone...

This year, Byredo celebrates its 10th birthday, founded a decade ago by basketball player turned perfumer Ben Gorham. The brand is now cult, adored by those looking for something a little more niche and individual than more mainstream scent options.

In celebration of the big anniversary, Ben decided to propose a nameless fragrance that leaves everyone free to create their own interpretation with no semantic boundaries. The unisex fragrance fuses pink pepper and gin, orris stem and lush violets with a base of tree mosses and fir.

Chanel No. 5 is the world's best-selling fragrance, despite launching 95 years ago. This new update is a fresher and less powdery version with vetiver and cedar, softened by white musks notes.

For the fresh new fragrance, the brand tapped an equally cool, fresh face, 17-year-old Lily-Rose Depp who's already fronted an eyewear campaign for the French fashion house.

If you're looking for an ultra feminine, ultra sophisticated scent, this pretty pink bottle is for you. Acqua di Parma's Peonia Nobile is a rose fragrance with wood and honey accents, combining vibrant notes of black pepper, soft notes of raspberry and hints of geranium, Turkish rose and fresh freesia.

Every year, Diptyque offers a new eau de parfum with a different bottle design. The third limited edition harvest-based fragrance in the La Collection 34 series centres on the May rose of Grasse with additional notes including red fruits and honey. The sleek black bottle will be a welcome addition to your dressing table or beauty cabinet.

We've all wanted to look like Kate Moss at some point in our sartorial journey but now we can smell like her too. Ms Moss is the face of Charlotte Tilbury's new sultry, woody fragrance, Scent of a Dream, and its as sexy and delicious as you might expect.

This new fruity perfume from Coach features bright, sparkling raspberries, creamy Turkish rose with a sensual suede musk base. Creative Director Stuart Vevers explains: “I wanted to create a fragrance that represents Coach’s free-spirited attitude, crafting a scent that is individual, authentic and cool.”

Chloë Grace Moretz, who has modelled in Coach campaigns since early 2015, returns to her role at the heritage brand to front the new fragrance launch, stating: "To me, this perfume is everything I love about Coach. It's modern and happy. It perfectly captures the energy, and excitement that Stuart has brought to Coach."

001 is Loewe's first fragrance under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson. Rooted in the fresh, multi-faceted identity Anderson has built for the Spanish fashion house since 2014, 001 represents the sensory expression of a character that's both identifiable and novel.

"This is a very personal project for me," Anderson explains. "I spent a lot of time working on it because it's something I really believe in. Above all, I wanted the fragrance to feel credible, an organic extension of what Loewe stands for today."

Woman mixes tangerine and bergamot with a sandalwood middle section and lower hints of jasmine and vanilla. Man combines the same top and core notes with undertones of cedar and musk. These new wearable scents are an elegant everyday perfume.

Loewe 001 £61 for 50ml

After a 70-year hiatus from the perfume world, this month Louis Vuitton returns with seven stunning scents, developed by third-generation expert perfumer, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud and stoppered bottles designed by Marc Newson.

Our favourite from the collection is Rose des Vents, a sparkling floral fragrance, containing May rose from Grasse, with two additional types of roses, and iris, cedar and spices.
