Available May 5

Cartel Land(2015)

Even grizzlier than when Breaking Bad went south of the border, this Oscar-nominated documentary explores the state of the ongoing drug problem along the U.S.-Mexican border.

Available May 23

Bikes Vs Cars(2015)

Not quite as exciting sounding as, say, Batman Vs Superman, this is still a worthwhile documentary about how the two and four-wheeled battle it out in cities around the world.

Available May 3

Black Friday(2007)

Not about the day when everyone buys absolutely everything and people brawl in department stores. This is an Indian crime film about the 1993 Bombay bombings.

Available May 1

Gladiator (1992)

Before Russell Crowe, there was Cuba Gooding Jr. This is actually about underground illegal boxing, not the Roman arenas. Show me the muscle!

Available May 18

Dark Horse (2007)

This film follows the true story of Dream Alliance, a champion racehorse bred on a Welsh allotment. Inspired the Katy Perry song of the same name. Maybe.

Available May 1

Gary: Tank Commander: Season 3

I'd never heard of this Scottish comedy but someone at The Guardian calls it "the funniest sitcom I have ever seen" so there you go.

Available May 30

Grace and Frankie: Season 2

Not since Golden Girls has a TV show made being an old lady look so fun. Makes us excited for our bus pass.

Available May 6

Houdini (1953)

This film follows the famous magician and his relationship with his stage assistant and wife, Bess. Think of them as an early twentieth century Paul and Debbie.

Available May 25

Chelsea (2016)

Chelsea Handler is back in this Netflix original talk show. Expect her to go in hard at the Kardashians and, well, just about everyone else.

Available May 11

Mind Hunters (2004)

Listen to the line-up of this crime thriller: Val Kilmer, Christian Slater, LL Cool J, Jonny Lee Miller. It's like all the forgotten stars of the 90s got back together for one last stab at stardom!

Available May 18

Bloodline : Season 2 (2016)

Oooohh, we’ve been anxiously awaiting season 2 of this noir family drama set in sunny Florida, from the creators of Damages.

Available May 27

Sammy J & Randy in Ricketts Lane: Series 1

Only an Australian television comedy could be called something this ridiculous.

Available May 1

Invizimals: Dimensional Battles

God knows what this is about but apparently it's based on a popular video game. If that's your thing.

Available May 15

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: Season 11

Our favourite bar rats are back. The magnificently titled episodes in this series include "Frank Falls Out the Window" and "Dee Made a Smut Film".

Do you remember how much you would laugh on the back of the bus to school? This stand-up guarantees equal lols. It says say.

Think of this as a French Josie and the Pussycats or Jem. Ooh la la.

Available May 1

Kung Fu Hustle (2004)

The highest-grossing foreign language film in the US in 2005 pretty much does what it says on the tin. There's some kung fu and some hustling.

Available May 18

Lady Dynamite : Season 1

No, Ms Dynamite hasn't married a Lord and done a reality show, this is a new mockumentary from American comedian Maria Bamford.

Available May 20

Mako Mermaids: An H20 Adventure (2016)

There are tons of films about mermaids - Splash, Aquamarine, The Little Mermaid. You know what there's not enough of in pop culture? Mermen! This special sees a young hottie called Zac accidentally become a merman.

Available May 21

She's Beautiful When She's Angry (2014)

First time filmmaker Mary Dore chronicles the events, the movers and the slogans of the feminist movement from 1966 to 1971. Right on.

Available May 1

No Man Of Her Own (1950)

I'd try to explain the plot of this drama but it involves an unwanted pregnancy, faking a death, assuming someone else's identity and other far fetched concoctions. And it was made in 1950!

Available May 25

Planet Hulk (2010)

Follow the adventures of the angry, green superhero after he crash lands on Sakaar, which is actually a fictional planet, not a curry.

Available May 1

Red Army (2010)

This Russian documentary combines two areas of interest you thought it was impossible to marry: ice hockey and politics!

Available May 1

Soccer City (2010)

With the first ever FIFA World Cup to be held in Africa as a backdrop, this documentary follows five football mad boys in a South African township. With that title, I'm guessing it was made by Yanks.

Welcome To Leith(2015)

In 2010 a white supremacist called Craig Cobb attempted to take over the North Dakota town of Leith by buying all the land. Here's what happened.

Available May 1

Chef's Table : Season 2, Part 1 (2016)

This docu-series takes you into the kitchens of some of the world’s greatest chefs. Yum.

Available May 27

Somm: Into The Bottle (2015)

Does anyone else think it's a bit tasteless to make a pun on one of the worst battles in the First World War for the title of a documentary about winemaking and sommeliers? Still, it's supposed to be good.

Available May 1

Power: Seasons 1-2

When he's not in da club, 50 Cent can be found producing this fine American drama.

Available May 1

Soul Mates: Series 1

Australian. Time-travelling. Comedy. I'll just leave that with you.

Available May 1

Starboard Light (2014)

This is surprisingly moving considering it's literally a documentary about a family who decide to sell their summer house on Cape Cod.

Available May 1

That Gal...Who Was In That Thing (2015)

You don't know their names but you will definitely know their faces. Eight semi-successful actresses detail their experiences in Hollywood - plastic surgery, racism, nudity and all.

Available May 1

The Black Stallion (1979)

A man is shipwrecked on a desert island with a wild Arabian stallion whom he befriends. So, like Castaway but with a horse instead of a football.

Available May 1

The Do-Over (2016)

Two men fake their own deaths and assume new identities. WARNING: Starring Adam Sandler.

Available May 27

The Champions(2015)

A documentary about the pit bulls rescued from a brutal fighting ring and the people who risked it all to save them. Prepare for Marley & Me levels of tears.

Thomas Quick: The Making Of A Serial Killer

After the successes of Serial and Making A Murderer, producers are falling over themselves to retell some of the world's grizzliest murder stories. This one's about a Swedish man who confessed to murdering 30 people while in a mental institution, only to withdraw all his confessions later on. What really happened?

The Return Of The Living Dead (1985)

This sounds pretty terrifying until you realise the tagline is "They're back from the grave...and ready to party".

Available May 1

The Court Jester (1955)

Apparently this musical was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." So there you are.

Available May 25

The Substitute (1996)

This crime thriller about a substitute teacher and inner city gangs sounded a bit dull until I realised ex-Mr Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, plays the school's gang leader .

Available May 1

The Musketeers: Series 1-2

I can't promise it will be as good as The Three Mouseketeers but this BBC drama is well worth checking out.
