It's music’s biggest night — an evening we look forward to for the chance at seeing something more than your basic red-carpet fare. Not to say we don't always love an award show, but the Grammy's offer something a little more spicy. And this year, we certainly saw some standout looks. Taylor Swift debuted a new chop and Zendaya styled her hair in homage to David Bowie.

Although, what really caught our eye was that a lot of the industry superstars flipped the switch and went for something more understated. It was all about super-clean, glowing skin and natural hair — and plenty of smoky eyes. It was not quite as exciting as what we've come to expect at the Grammys.

That being said, there were still so many looks we want to rock ourselves, like, tomorrow. Ahead, the best hair and makeup of the night.

Taylor Swift

T Money may have gone with her signature red lips yet again, but she certainly switched things up when it came to her hair. It’s still unknown whether this is a new cut or if she was simply pulling a Gigi — but either way, we’re feeling her chic bob and it’s ability to somehow make her cheekbones look even more razor-sharp.

Selena Gomez

Selena channels a young Bianca Jagger at Studio54 with voluminous '70s-inspired waves, a deep side part, and a major smoky eye that all perfectly complement her slinky, sequin dress.

Ellie Goulding

The singer went for a super-feminine and understated makeup look with soft pink lips, dewy skin, and major lashes. And we love how she makes a hairstyle that we would wear to brunch look totally worthy of the red carpet.

Adele

For a woman once known for her bouffant hair and major cat-eyes, this is basically going bare-faced. But we think the pared down look suits Adele — her lob is super chic, her skin looks flawless, and we're seriously dying over those bold brows.

Bella Hadid

The model took a break from NYFW to grace us with her gorgeousness on the Grammys red carpet and she looks like she just stepped off the runway. Her sleek wet-look hair, her soft smoky eye, and killer cheekbones just scream supermodel.

Zendaya

We're totally behind Zendaya's David Bowie tribute hairstyle. It may not be a look that just anyone can pull-off (as with so many things Bowie), but we think she did it with aplomb. And as usual, her makeup is perfection — which if you can believe it, she did herself.

Janelle Monae

Monae proves that pigtail braids don’t have to look super young and girly. She pairs the majorly thick, long plaits with thick lashes and a subtle pink lip that makes them seem suddenly sophisticated.

Lady Gaga

Gaga's David Bowie tribute performance sent shivers down our spines — and her amazing look was the icing on the cake. Only she (and of course, Bowie himself) could make orange hair and blue eyeshadow look so effortless.

Ciara

We love how Ciara paired an easy, loose ponytail with a sultry smoky eye and nude lip — her look was the epitome of effortless glamour.

Alessandra Ambrosio

Another model, another sleek middle-part and smoky eye. We obviously always get behind this look, but we love how Ambrosio switched it up a bit by using green shadow. And we’re also feeling this shoulder-grazing, straight-across haircut.

Chrissy Teigen

The mom-to-be showed off her monochromatic makeup look (and those gorgeous earrings) with a sleek, pulled-back ponytail — one of the few updos we saw all evening.

Serayah McNeill

Just a few days earlier in the front row at New York Fashion Week, Serayah McNeill was sporting down-to-there hair. But for the Grammys, she decided to edge up her look with a sleek, asymmetrical bob and a deep-purple lip.

Beyoncé

Beyoncé kept us waiting by opting out of the red carpet — but when we finally saw her, her beauty look didn’t disappoint. After those major waves at the Super Bowl, Queen Bey went for a sleek side-part with neutral-tone makeup, highlighted with some major shimmer. Another down-played look, but another win just the same.
