When it comes to wedding-day moments, there’s nothing that really measures up to the big dress reveal. So, it makes sense that you’d want your gown to stand the test of time and still turn heads decades later.
This certainly rings true for the famous ladies ahead, whose dresses we'll be talking about forever. Behold the most iconic wedding dresses of our time: from Audrey Hepburn’s Balmain number to Bianca Jagger’s epic tuxedo jacket. Get ready to be inspired.
Audrey Hepburn
Of course Audrey Hepburn’s wedding dress would be next-level stylish. The actress donned a custom-made Balmain dress for her 1954 nuptials to first husband Mel Ferrer. The high-neck, tea-length creation is graceful, simple, and so ahead of its time. And, can we talk about the voluminous sleeves? So gorgeous.

Designed by John Galliano, the sexy wedding dress Kate Moss chose for her 2011 vows to Jamie Hince exuded bohemian chicness and rock-'n'- roll glamour. The vintage-inspired couture gown featured detailed beading, sequins, and embroidery throughout. The model topped off the look with a lace veil. Timeless.

Grace Kelly’s long-sleeved lace, silk taffeta, and tulle gown was so unforgettable that it even has its own Wikipedia entry . Kelly wore the embellished number for her 1956 wedding to Prince Rainier III of Monaco, and to this day, it continues to be an inspirational silhouette — with its buttoned-up neckline, cummerbund, and bell-shaped skirt. The dress was the handiwork of MGM Studios costume designer Helen Rose. (Fun fact: MGM often provided wedding gowns to its actresses in those days.)

Solange donned many looks during her weekend-long New Orleans bash in 2014, and they were all pretty epic — from the cape jumpsuit to the ruffled rehearsal-dinner frock. But the most stunning of all? This caped Kenzo number with superhero-esque gold cuffs (and a cute groom, to boot!).

This was one of the most anticipated wedding dresses in history. Designer Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen worked with the bride to create a gown that combines both traditional and modern elements: The lace bodice opens into a plunging V-neck, the train is short, and the skirt features modest embroidery around the bottom. Neither over-the-top or underwhelming, it made precisely the right statement.

Sometimes more is more. Case in point: The elaborate tulle Valentino dress that Anne Hathaway chose for her 2012 Big Sur wedding to Adam Shulman. From the headpiece to the pink touches on the bottom to the shoulder-baring top, the actress' look really stuck with us. Princess diaries, indeed.

Speaking of pink touches, Gwen Stefani's dramatic ombré Dior gown is one for the books. Even though her marriage to Gavin Rossdale didn't last , her one-of-a-kind dress will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Arguably one of the most storied dresses in history, Princess Diana's stunner by David and Elizabeth Emanuel featured a 25-foot-long train, thousands of pearls, and sleeves so large they had their own zip code. She wore the dress for her 1981 marriage to Prince Charles — which was among the most expensive in history . Following her tragic death, it was handed down to her sons, William and Harry.

Jackie O was a true American icon. Naturally, her wedding gown was just as classic and timeless as she was. The Ann Lowe-designed dress — made of ivory silk taffeta — featured modest mini wax flower embellishments and a modern, portrait-style neckline.

Is Bianca Jagger the very first alt-bride? We'd like to think so. From the Yves Saint Laurent "Le Smoking" jacket to the oversized hat, everything about her wedding-day outfit was unique, in a very good way.
