It's likely that you recognise Sami's face as that of Zac Efron's better half, but if that's all you know, it's about time you got better acquainted with this girl, pronto.
Why? Beyond Sami's evident beauty, she has brains to match. She has a Masters from San Francisco University in Global Entrepreneurship, as well as a degree in Marketing, and, after leaving her successful career at a tech start up in San Fran, she has established herself as one of LA's hottest fashion icons and has a collection of vintage clothing so mouth-watering it's hard to comprehend. Known for her signature Levi's 501s, marabou jackets, leotards, berets and Converse, Sami's cutting through the noise of the West Coast uniform of skinny black jeans and a white tee. Oh, and she's won six California state champion gold medals in gymnastics, and lived and worked in Paris, Barcelona, Spain, and Taiwan.

Name, age, location:
Sami Miro, 28, Los Angeles
Who’s your best buddy?
I have three best friends who still live in San Francisco that I’ve known since middle school, high school, and college, two best friends since living in LA, and my amazing boyfriend who also makes the cut as my best friend of course.
Where’s your happy place?
I have a few: (1) Sweating my a** off in hot yoga (2) Eating uni and ikura sushi (3) Discovering new incredible vintage stores and spending hours digging.
What do you love about the city you live in?
I love LA because it’s a land where people go to accomplish their dreams. It’s a lively city; people are very friendly and open to making new friends. It also works wonders for my lifestyle: Vintage, yoga, healthy organic eating.
How does it impact your style?
Fashion in LA is very street style centric and everyone dresses the same. In the best way possible, there's an army of Jenner wannabes. They dress cute but I don’t really fit that mould, so I suppose being here reminds me to keep on my strange vintage path and do what I know works best for me. LA has, however, created a shoe lover out of me and I wear heels a lot more. I used to live in San Francisco where you walk a lot so I seldom wore heels. I’m very happy with my shoe collection.
Where’s your favourite place to shop?
There’s some great vintage stores in LA but they’re typically picked over because vintage is popular here. I shop a lot online for vintage too – Ebay and Etsy are my favourites. I’m also always on the hunt to discover new up-and-coming brands to work with for my personal life and styling career so I’m perpetually on the prowl to find my favourite new designer.
What item of clothing are you still hunting out?
My wardrobe is insanely large and takes over my entire apartment and boyfriend’s closet. I should say I have everything I need but I’m always on the hunt for special, one-of-a-kind vintage piece.
What item of clothing best sums you up?
Definitely a statement vintage jacket, vintage leather jacket, and/or a vintage beret.
The best new brand you’ve discovered?
GCDS and Faust Puglisi – loving the Italians right now :)
Is there anything you won’t wear?
You’ll probably never see me in purple or orange.
What three items should every woman own?
A quality leather jacket, a great pair of black jeans and pair of sunnies that go with everything.
How would you sum your style up in three words?
Vintage. Layers. Menswear.
What’s your favourite pair of shoes?
Definitely my dirty old white Converse.
What brand do you miss from your youth?
Limited Two.
What do you have too many of?
Vintage tees, vintage jackets, vintage coats, and jeans. But when it’s vintage you can never have enough, that’s my motto.
Favourite item of clothing you’re currently wearing?
Sheer long-sleeve turtle neck bodysuit.
Who do you stalk on Instagram?
I’m always stalking new designers that I want to collaborate with – and sometimes Bella Hadid.
What's your favourite picture you've posted on Instagram?
Any old pictures of my Dad and I :) I’m a Daddy’s girl.
What's your most liked Instagram post?
Probably my one-year anniversary photo.
What caption are you most proud of Instagram?
I don't really think very hard about my captions. Most of them are song lyrics.
How do you look after your skin?
My skin is very important to me. On my face, I use Tatcha brightening serums and SPF in the day time and at night, EO organic lavender oil. On my body, I mix organic shea butter and EO organic lavendar body oil. I always smell yummy, fresh, and organic.
What foundation do you wear?
Skin Weightless Powder Foundation from Bobbi Brown . It matches my colour perfectly and it’s super light so you can still see my skin. There's something sexy about not wearing heavy makeup – where you can still see the skin.
Favourite beauty product of all time?
EO organic lavender body oil all over the face and body. You’ll look young forever.
You went from black to blonde to black. Would you go blonde again?
If I could do it over again, I would have just bought an awesome blonde wig and called it a day. Being blonde was fun and different but the bleaching process ruins your hair – especially since my natural colour is black. Luckily my hair grows fast so I’m almost all virgin hair again!
How did you maintain bleached hair?
Coconut oil, coconut oil, and more coconut oil! Use a really good shampoo and conditioner, and don’t ever brush it when its wet or you’ll rip all of your hair out.
What’s your most important beauty rule?
Try and use as many organic products in your life as you can, you’ll live longer and they make you feel so fresh.
Where are we most likely to find you on a Friday night/ Sunday morning?
Friday night you’ll find me having an omakase sushi dinner and Sunday morning you’ll find me hiking or at a flea market.
Your favourite place to eat?
I can’t give away my favourite restaurant but it’s obviously a sushi spot. I also love Erewhon – the world's healthiest grocery store.
What’s your favourite thing to cook?
Fish tacos with guacamole and kale – everything organic.
Who makes you laugh?
It’s really not hard to make me laugh so pretty much everyone has a chance.
What quality do you most admire in other people?
Being intelligent, humble and driven are the most admirable.
What do you want from your career?
I want to make Sami Miro synonymous with vintage, to start my own line, and to creative direct.
What are your hopes for the year ahead?
To really establish myself as a force in fashion and vintage. I plan on collaborating with a few really awesome brands and I’m excited for that. I’m also exploring my styling career. I loves men’s fashion and have a new client. His name starts with a Z.
Your biggest fear?
Death.
Your biggest achievement to date?
Probably going to graduate school and getting kiss-ass grades while living and working in Europe and Asia.
