You're scrolling through Facebook, checking out friends' status updates and baby pictures, when you see that word. The word that makes you seethe with rage and forget the entire reason you were online in the first place. That word may be different for each of us, but we've each got one (or more).

Thanks to the glory that is technology — and Google Chrome — you never, ever have to see that word again. Maybe it's the word "diet." Or maybe you just can't stand coming across Donald Trump or the Kardashians in your online antics. Whatever it may be, there's a Chrome extension you can download to make it disappear from your life, once and for all.

If you've never downloaded an extension before, it's easy. Just head to the Chrome Web Store, find what you want to install, tap Add to Chrome, and then click Add to confirm you're okay with the permissions it needs to do its job. Once installed, an icon will be added to the right of the address bar, which you can click to toggle on or off.

But we've already done the busywork for you. We've rounded up seven extensions you can use to make your work and social searching way more pleasant. Read on for our picks.

#WeighThis Diet Filter

You, dear reader, look gorgeous just the way you are and should never feel pressured, tempted, or otherwise irritated by the D word: diet. If you're as tired of seeing it as we are, block it out of your life completely using the #WeightThis Diet Filter (which was built by Lean Cuisine, curiously enough). The extension filters the word "diet" with a bright orange censor bar, and on top of that, the company will be donating to the organization Girls Leadership.

Kardashian Filter

Some of us love Kim, Khloé, Kylie, and the rest of the Kardashian bunch, while the rest of us would rather they disappear from headlines completely. Guess what? You can do that! If you download Kardashian Filter, the extension removes references and images of the family from websites you visit.

NickelBlock

For those of us of a certain age, the mere mention of the band Nickelback can induce shudders and memories of parties we'd rather forget. You can make sure that never happens with the NickelBlock extension.

For those of you too young to remember Nickelback...Well, the next extension is definitely for you.

Millennials Begone!

Boomers and all their whining about millennials. Gen X'ers and all their nostalgia and weird Nickelback-phobia. If you're sick of seeing your generation trash-talked, download Millennials Begone! It replaces utterances of the word "millennial" with "pesky whipper-snappers," which is far more entertaining.

Cloud To Butt Plus

If you're tired of hearing about techy buzzword "the cloud" (you know, the magical place where all your online data is stored), you need this extension, stat. Cloud To Butt Plus transforms mentions of "the cloud," with the words "butt," "butts," or "my butt." It may be juvenile, but it's hilarious. Instead of using a "cloud-based streaming music service," you're now using a "butt-based streaming music service." You also get marvelous headlines such as "Amazon, Google race to get your DNA into my butt."

Be warned though — if you actually work with cloud software, you'll want to double-check the emails you send out. It also doesn't necessarily discriminate between general mentions of clouds and tech-based cloud mentions. But that's okay, because replacing "cloud" with butt is funny pretty much 100% of the time.

The Trumpweb

The Donald is everywhere. Instead of reading about his latest antics and being filled with fury, be reminded of one his most notable quotables. The Trumpweb inserts an actual, facepalm-worthy Trump quote every time his name is mentioned in articles you read. Maybe you'll actually look forward to his next mention.

In My Words

You can use this extension to automatically filter out any word or common typo that drives you nuts. Just the type the word(s) you don't want to see, and next to each, type the replacement you'd like to see instead. Voila, your internet experience is transformed. For a different version of this same, general word-blocking functionality, you can also use Pop Block.
