This year's Golden Globes red carpet has us very excited for our next night out, thanks to dozens of stars that arrived in inspiring — and surprisingly glamorous — beauty looks. In fact, instead of opting for edgy, slightly disheveled styles (something we've seen a lot of lately), we saw a barrage of stars walk down the carpet looking incredibly polished.

The biggest trend: pristine, "done" hair coupled with soft, glowing makeup. It's a combination that feels fresh and modern. But the best part? Unlike complicated updos and inky smoky eyes of years past, these styles are all incredibly easy to copy. Think: Zendaya's smooth waves, Alicia Vikander's barely there makeup, or Zoe Kazan's bob. (And did we mention Malin Akerman's sleek low pony?) Translation: If you're looking for some new beauty inspiration for 2016, look no further.

Ahead, we've rounded up the best beauty looks from the Golden Globes 2016 red carpet.

Although it may look like it, Gina Rodriguez's retro-inspired hairstyle is not in fact, a half pony. Instead, Joico Celebrity Hair Stylist Paul Norton used GHD's White Platinum Styler to straighten the front section of Rodriguez's hair before finishing off with Joico's Crème Wax Texture and Shine to keep her locks in place.

For Kirsten Dunst’s sophisticated beauty look, makeup artist Pati Dubroff pulled inspiration from John Singer Sargent’s Painting Of Madame X using creamy, nude hues on the lips and cheeks and stormy, dark shades on the eyes.

We can always count of J. Lo. to bring the glow. The actress, singer, and dancer donned a radiant face and glossy lip that didn’t compete with her bright yellow ensemble.

Thanks to Alicia Vikander's angelic updo created by hairstylist Christopher Naselli, we can fully admire the star's show-stopping highlighter.

What's an award show without a killer fresh-from-the-beach look? Rosie Huntington-Whiteley delivered, complete with a sun-kissed glow.

Instead of opting for a typical neutral or red lip shade, Laverne Cox decided to mix things up with an alluring satin-finish plum lipstick.

Bryce Dallas Howard put the spotlight on her gorgeous red locks with a stick-straight, low-maintenance cut by Jenny Cho for Suave.

Make Malin Akerman's slick low pony your go-to office-to-drinks look of 2016.

Taraji P. Henson keeps things muted with a windswept bob, pinky-nude lips, and of course, brows of steel.

We think Saoirse Ronan's character, Eilis, in Brooklyn would be happy to sport the star's fresh-faced Golden Globes look by celebrity makeup artist, Mai Quynh.

Zendaya sure knows how to slay on the red carpet. We're in love with her flowing Hollywood waves and lash-heavy makeup look.

Remember that stupid rule that bold eyes and lips don’t go together? Well, Viola Davis’ navy smoky eye and berry lip created by celebrity makeup artist, Autumn Moultrie, totally blows that one out of the water.

We're thinking of nixing our go-to textured bobs in favor of a super-smooth, geometric one à la Zoe Kazan.

Instead of reaching for typical grey and black eyeshadows to create Olivia Wilde's sultry smoky eye, makeup artist Jo Baker used burgundy shades and black liner to bring out the actress' blue irises.

There's something so mysterious about Emilia Clark's hazy wash of eyeshadow and her peachy-pink lips.

Brie Larson's polished yet relaxed locks and natural makeup by Chanel celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin is one of the easiest looks to copy at home.

Amy Schumer makes the case for matching your eye makeup with your black and white outfit.

Lola Kirke's punchy red lip and Stevie Nicks-style curls perfectly complement the star's mustard-yellow gown.

Katy Perry wore a Bumpit (yes, the As Seen On TV hair accessory) to get that sky-high, retro-inspired volume. Our thoughts? You do you.

Trend alert: monochromatic makeup! Amy Adams' red dress and coral makeup stunned, thanks to perfectly-paired shades. And her locks? Hairstylist Laini Reeves made sure her waves would last by prepping her locks with Pai-Shau's Royal Abundance Mousse.

Rooney Mara's textured braid was the stuff of hair legends, probably because it was hair legend Adir Abergel who crafted the sectioned and textured plait.

Jennifer Lawrence has never met a red carpet she couldn't win, and tonight was no exception. Her platinum lob was twisted into a textured updo with just a touch of volume at the roots, while her makeup was pared down and coordinated to her red dress.

Angela Bassett's radiant makeup look proves that strobing is here to stay, and her locks? You can score that light-reflecting movement with a flat iron and a flick of the wrist.

Jenna Dewan Tatum took a note from the American Music Awards' biggest trend and matched her eye makeup to her dress, thanks to makeup artist Patrick Ta working for Burt's Bees.

Of course, not everyone had sleek, straight locks on the red carpet. Julianne Moore balanced her sequin dress with undone tresses and a simple wash of bronze shadow.

Lady Gaga’s glam squad pulled inspiration from one of the most-iconic beauty eras: the '50s. That included soft, pin-curled locks accompanied by bold brows and matte skin, the latter two were courtesy of makeup artist Sarah Tanno.

Makeup artist Hung Vanngo used Burt's Bees' shade range to create a natural-looking face on Taylor Schilling.

Kate Hudson may not stray too far from her California-girl look, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? She sported soft, glowing makeup and her city's most popular hairstyle — the tousled lob — on the red carpet.

Actress Kate Winslet is the epitome of glamour on every carpet she walks, this we know. Hairstylist Renato Campora, working for Fekkai, gave the actress a wavy, asymmetrical updo to show off her diamond earrings tonight.
