Just because it's well into winter, that doesn't mean your wardrobe can't be as fun as it is functional. Yes, cold-weather dressing means lots of layering and even more knitwear but one little carefully-considered garment can completely transform your outfit, whether it's a killer coat, directional denim or a bold bag.

As Christmas looms and you're looking to drop your loved ones a gift hint or two, there's no harm in *accidentally* leaving a tab open on one of the products ahead. If you’re in need of some sartorial inspiration to liven up a dreary wardrobe, take a tip from eight of London's most stylish women, who reveal the item at the top of their winter wish list.

Molly Goddard

London designer Molly makes the frothy, frilly dresses that the coolest girls are clamouring to wear. Agyness Deyn got married in one of her designs last August but Molly's creations, particularly SS17's neon numbers, are perfect for a rave too. Her versatile tiered, tulle dresses can be worn out for a glamorous occasion or paired with jeans and a T-shirt for daytime chic.

So what does the 27-year-old designer who's making the dresses we all want, desire most for herself?

"I always wear gold hoops, but normally buy very simple ones. I have been dreaming of gold hoops with a ball on the end for ages and think these clean ones are perfect. I have three holes in each ear so three pairs will do!"

Camille Charrière

French-born, London-based style blogger Camille has the insouciant elegance of all our favourite Parisian girls, mixed with a little of London's more playful approach. If you're into undone chic and mixing high fashion with high street, Charrière is your girl. No one knows how to pull off Mango and H&M with Vetements and Louis Vuitton – except Camille.

"I'd have to say my top pick would be an Olympia Le-Tan art clutch. These exquisite pieces, which are both the perfect shelf adornment and date night companion don't come cheap, so I've been waiting for a special occasion to splurge or have someone splurge for me! One of fashion’s few real collector items. Picasso always gets my vote."

Lotte Andersen

If you want to throw a party with the coolest crowd and a floor-filling playlist, you need Lotte Andersen on speed dial. When she's not hosting the kind of bash that people are still talking about weeks later, Andersen is an Art Director who has worked with brands including Stella McCartney, Nowness and ASOS. What's top of her winter wish list?

"I fished and flirted with the Balenciaga and Loewe websites, ending up on the granddaddy of style, my old favey fave Margiela. I thought ffs Lotte, think outside the box, but sometimes you have to think, a classic is a classic. Practical, divisive, sexy in the most perverse way, hello Tabi boot, get on my foot."

Jessie Bush

Jessie Bush, founder of fashion and lifestyle website We The People, nails minimalist chic every day of the week. If you're looking for inspiration on how to make a regular T-shirt and jeans look effortlessly elegant with the right accessories, look no further than Jessie's Insta feed. To cut a long story short, pretty much everything she wears, we want.

**PROMO FEATURE**

"As the temperature drops, GAP’s hooded parka has shot to the top of my wish list. I always have a khaki parka on high rotation during winter; it’s ideal for layering with knitwear that won’t fit under other jackets, dressing down with denim or throwing over leather trousers and a white tee when I’m headed out. Bonus cosy points for the faux-fur hood."

Phoebe-Lettice Thompson

We all have that one friend who is completely fearless with their sartorial choices and wears everything with a give-a-shit attitude. Creative Director Phoebe-Lettice is the Queen of IDGAF fashion; whether she's wearing Ed Hardy x Illustrated People, vintage Versace or fresh-off-the-rack Kenzo x H&M, she always gives 100% neon, fluffy, gothy, grunge glamour.

"This latex trench is my sexy goth matrix dream coat. I am a big fan of MISBHV; this is just one of the many pieces I love. SS17 is also beyond so I am patiently waiting for that to drop."

Naomi Shimada

With her effervescent, infectiously warm personality and vibrant, eye-popping wardrobe, model and filmmaker Naomi Shimada is a ray of sunshine. Just as comfortable in Nike as she is in Marques' Almeida, you won't find a collection of clothes as colourful and covetable as Naomi's.

"I travel so much, so good luggage is always up there in my want/need list! As I get older I really appreciate what having good luggage actually means. I feel like I’ve been working my way up to Rimowa luggage my whole life… it’s a true milestone item for me!

Growing up in Japan, everyone had one, and you know the Japanese know what's up. Red is such a power colour and that way if anyone tries to steal it off the luggage belt I’m coming straight for them! Please Santa, I’ve been a real good girl this year, please bless me up!!"

Daisy Lowe

We've followed Daisy Lowe's style for as long as we've worn skinny jeans, leather jackets and biker boots. Sometimes hyper-feminine in figure-hugging dresses, and other times perfectly low-key in tomboy jeans and a bomber, chameleonic model Daisy epitomises north London cool. What does the denim aficionado want to add to her wardrobe this month?

**PROMO FEATURE**

"I always love GAP for their staple pieces and you can never go wrong with a good denim jacket! It’s effortless, easy to wear from day to night and surprisingly warm for those cold winter evenings!"

Poppy Jamie

Presenter and cofounder of accessories brand Pop & Suki (set up with BFF Suki Waterhouse), Poppy Jamie has the kind of polished feminine style many of us dream of – if only we could pull ourselves together every morning. Think silk trouser suits, off-the-shoulder blouses and floaty dresses. Never not in heels, guess what Poppy is lusting after this winter...

"I am in love with the Miu Miu velvet platforms, especially the burgundy velvet. I'm yearning for them badly! I wear heels all the time, even in the day, as they make me feel more mentally ready for work. These would be the perfect addition to my winter wardrobe. Comfy, velvet, chic... what more could you ask for in a shoe?"
