Yes, we all over-indulged over Christmas and yes, we've now all made a vow to eat better in 2016. Our body is our temple, a healthy outside starts from the inside, let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food, etc etc.

With all that in mind, everything in moderation (including moderation), no? Here are some of the most delicious - and at times very nutritious - Instagram accounts to follow for food inspiration, creative masterpieces and meals so good you'll want to lick your phone screen.

Clerkenwell Boy

Tim a.k.a. Clerkenwell Boy is the faceless foodie with a cult following. With his regular, mouthwatering posts (it seems like he eats out for every meal) Clerkenwell Boy keeps Londoners up to date with all of the best places to visit. Follow the anonymous Australian Instagrammer, who moved to London a decade ago, for pictures from the newest openings, pop-ups and collaborations. If you're still unconvinced, Nigel Slater, Nigella and Jamie Oliver are all fans of his account.

Crumbs & Doilies

You might have thought that cupcakes had their day a few years back and that everyone had moved onto macaroons or cake pops but Crumbs & Doilies account will prove otherwise.

On owner Jemma Wilson's feed you’ll be treated to a whole host of cupcakes, a rainbow cake in a jar, gingerbread houses, a Biscoff layer cake, cookie cheesecake, a piñata cake that explodes with smarties on slicing and even burger cakes. We're sold.

Food Baby NY

If you don't like kids or food, look away now but for those who do love eating and adore cute children then Food Baby NY is right up your street.

New York dad, Mike Chau, takes pictures of the delicious food he eats, with his two kids comically featured in the background. Try and not smile at a baby in an onion ring...

Issy Croker

Issy Croker is a London-based food and lifestyle photographer. She shoots for restaurants, magazines, cookbooks and brands, evident in the picture-perfect quality of her food posts on Instagram. From cinnamon buns to boozy Chinese pork and noodles, there's something for everyone.

All Things Meaty

All Things Meaty is one for meat lovers and/or those with a royal hangover. Chris Keeling is the best friend of Clerkenwell Boy and captures all the best burgers, street food, steaks, grills and good stuff available in London at the moment.

Linda Lomelino

Linda Lomelino lives in a small town on the Swedish west coast and began baking and blogging back in 2009. Lomelino has subsequently released three books but it's her artistic and atmospheric Instagram images of tiny pear galettes or a Triple chocolate cake that have got her well over half a million followers.

Fat and Furious Burger

Thomas and Quentin (who founded the Graphic Design

& Art Direction studio Furious) were so uninspired by mediocre lunchtime sandwiches that they decided to start cooking up some creative burger recipes in their little kitchen.

It soon became a ritual, improvising and experimenting each week with fresh ways of working on a new creation in a very short lunch break and thus Fat and Furious Burger was born.

Ed Loftus

Ed Loftus is the Head of Food Development at Jamie Oliver and a pastry chef king so naturally his Instagram account is pretty damn tasty. If you're after top tips for the perfect tart or just on the hunt for pudding inspiration, Ed is the answer to your pastry prayers.

Minimalist Baker

Husband and wife team, Dana and John Shultz are the brains behind Minimalist Baker, an online community committed to simple cooking.

Born out of a passion for easy-to-make, delicious food, all recipes either require 10 ingredients or less, 1 bowl or 1 pot, or half an hour or less to prepare. Many are also vegan and/or gluten-free. Quick and good for you? Doesn't get much better than that...

Rosie Foodie

Rosie Birkett is a food stylist, cookbook author and columnist. This year Rosie also launched a YouTube channel 'A Lot On Her Plate ' to inspire her viewers to get cooking with some of her favourite home cooked recipes.

Skye Gyngell

Skye Gyngell is the Australian cook, formerly Food Editor at Vogue, and Michelin star chef from the Petersham Nurseries Cafe who now heads up Spring restaurant in Somerset House. Check out her Instagram for beautifully simple dishes and the highest quality ingredients.

Top With Cinnamon

19-year-old Londoner Izy Hossack studies Food Science & Nutrition at Leeds but also manages to find the time to run her blog Top With Cinnamon which covers a multitude of culinary delights – though mostly sweet – ranging from the indulgent to the wholesome and hearty.

Symmetry Breakfast

If you like perfectly aligned and curated images on Insta and enjoy good food then welcome to Symmetry Breakfast which offers the best, most beautifully styled, original breakfast posts on the internet.

Jean Imbert

Rix Pot

Maddie Rix is a Food Stylist at Jamie Oliver and her colourful posts will leave you salivating (WARNING: do not peruse when hungry). Standout dishes include an aubergine lasagne and a Staffordshire oatcake with peas, broad beans, asparagus, pecorino & a fried egg.
